The Ultimate Pro digital ballast by Lumatek is designed to be able to operate 230V HPS/MH bulbs and professional 400V HPS lamps. The ballast automatically detects which type of lamp is connected to it. The ballast is dimmable to 400W, 400W SL, 600W and 600W SL - Super Lumens. The Super Lumens setting boosts the power by 10%. 

The 400V HID lamps are better than the common 240V lamps used in indoor growing and hydroponics by hobby growers. They are more efficient and produce more light from the PAR spectrum - the part of the light spectrum plants use for photosynthesis. 

It can be connected to the Lumatek Digital Panel - Controller PLUS 2.0, which can operate up to 400 lights and ballasts at the same time. It can dim the lights in increments of 1%, turn them on/off automatically at the pre-set time and simulate sunrise/sundown.
