Product detailed description
The Milwaukee MC 310 EC Monitor is a professional monitor for continuously watching the electrical conductivity in a solution with an external probe on a 1,5m cable. The practical device has a large digital display and openings for screws for easy and safe installation. The device monitors the EC in a range from 1 to 5 mS. The adjustable alarm alerts you if the EC gets outside the pre-set range. The Milwaukee EC monitor is calibrated manually and needs a 1,5 mS, 1413µS calibrating solution.
The package includes:
- the Milwaukee MC 310 EC Monitor
- probe with a 1,5m cable
- power adaptor
- calibrating screwdriver
- 25ml of 1413µS calibrating solution
Milwaukee MC310:
- measuring range: 1,0 - 5,0 mS/cm
- resolution: 0,1 mS/cm
- accuracy: +/- 2 %
- probe: MA812/2 (included)
- environment: 0 - 50°C, 95% relative humidity
- temperature compensation: automatic from 0 to 50°C
- power adaptor: 12 V (included)
- dimensions: 148,5 x 82,5 x 32 mm
- weight: 180 g (with battery, without the probe)
Warning:
Cleaning the probes is necessary to remove salt residues. It's necessary to regularly calibrate the device. This device isn't suitable for measuring the EC of soil - it measures only in liquids.
Why is it important to monitor the electrical conductivity (EC) of the nutrient solution?
Electrical conductivity tells us how saturated the nutrient solution is. If the EC is too low, it's necessary to add more fertiliser, and when it's too high, it has to be diluted by more water. Incorrect EC values mean over-fertilising or malnutrition - both can endanger plant health and development. Irrigation water, the basis of the nutrient solution (tap water, rainwater, water from a well), can differ in the number of dissolved minerals, which impacts the resulting EC.
EC fluctuates more in recirculation systems than in run-to-waste systems. Measure only after stirring the solution thoroughly to avoid inaccuracies. The correct concentration of nutrients is vital during the entire growth cycle. Please keep in mind that every plant needs a different EC, and every fertiliser has a different impact.
How to calibrate and maintain Milwaukee EC monitors:
Always read the user manual, which describes how to properly use, calibrate and clean the device. You can significantly increase the lifespan of the device by using high-quality buffers, storing and cleaning solutions. We recommend calibrating the device at least once a month. Use a sterile buffer for each calibration.
Protect the device from impacts and other mechanical damage. If it's not waterproof, keep it away from water, moisture and dust. The warranty on the probe is valid for 6 months from the date of sale! For other components, it's 24 months from the date of sale.
