The GL16 is a complete light fixture with a UV-C germicidal lamp for direct disinfection and sterilisation. The package includes the lamp, the fixture with a built-in maintenance-free digital ballast and a power cable.

Shortwave UV radiation is used to sterilise air, liquids and surfaces. Germicidal UV light damages or entirely destroys the RNA and DNA of the microorganisms, preventing them from reproducing. The light also damages the structure of proteins, enzymes, macromolecules and biopolymers in the microorganisms. As a result, they either die or can't reproduce. 

The light removes 90% of all bacteria, protozoa, viruses and fungi (like bacillus, streptococcus, algae, paramoeciums, fungal spores and yeast).

The germicidal lamp doesn't create any chemicals or toxic by-products. The filtration glass reduces ozone formation at 182nm wavelength and the degradation of useful UV-C radiation.

Installing the light isn't complicated - it plugs into the main with a 3m long power cable. The fixture has a built-in ballast which won't require any maintenance. It can be attached to a wall, the ceiling or placed on a flat surface.
