Grodan planter cube 36x36x65mm without planter, without hole
Code: 39634Product detailed description
Practical small planting cube (36x36x65 mm) made of mineral wool for young plants in the early stages of developmenta healthy, clean environment and a balanced water/air ratio.
All products from the popularGrodanare environmentally friendly and can be used to grow plants in a growbox (indoor), in the greenhouse or even outdoors in the garden (outdoor).
Rockwool cubes are produced by creating rockwool lava from basalt wool and calcium in the first stage of production at a temperature of 1500 °C, and the production process then continues by converting this lava into thin fibres. In the final stage of the production process, the fibres are pressed into cubes of the desired shape and size.
Practical applications:
- Seed sowing
- Rooting of seedlings and freshly taken cuttings (clones)
Basalt wool, known as rockwool, is athe perfect hydroponic medium:
- It keepsoptimum humidity/air ratioin the root zone, which promotes the healthy development of a highly branched root system that allows the plant to absorb nutrients efficiently and thrive in every way.
- It allowsmaximum control over the processplant nutrition (fertilization).
- It is ahydrophilic materiall. This means that it has an excellent water retention capacity.
- Inert mediumcontains no nutrientsand therefore does not affectthe electrical conductivity of the nutrient solution (EC).
- High stabilityof this growing medium means a minimal increase in thepH.
- Sterile material means that the plant can develop in an environment that is not contaminated and whichis not conducive to pests, mould formationor other factors that could compromise its vitality.
- Rockwool cubes aresuitable for almost allhydroponic systemsincludingNFTor perhapsEBB&Flow.
- Grodan planter cubes arefully recyclableso there's also the option of making themreuse. However, this must be preceded by cleaning.
- Grodan products generally bring growerssaving water and fertiliser.
How to use Grodan planting cubes?
- The planting cube (like everything from Rockwool) is firstsoaked in lukewarm water at a temperature of approx. 25 °Cwith a fine-tunedpH adjustedwhich, depending on the needs of the plants currently being grown, ranges from4.8 - 6.
- Thanks to the excellent absorption properties of the cube, its pH soon reaches the same value as the water in which it is soaked.
- The Rockwool cube is then left to drain freely to get rid of excess water. Squeezing is undesirable.
- The planting cube serves its purpose until you see that the roots of the plant are already growing out, which is the impetus for transplanting the plant into a larger cube.
