Plants in the Alien Hydroponics Aero system are watered with a fine spray of water and grow without growing medium in an open basket. A powerful but quiet pump delivers the nutrient solution to each growing pot, where it is dispersed by two fine nozzles attached to the underside of the lid. The duration and intervals of watering can be tailored to the needs of the plants being grown. The system thus gives the grower more control over the conditions around the roots of the plant.
Roots that are regularly sprinkled with nutrient solution, but are otherwise free to air, can take up much more oxygen and nutrients. Crops grow like water and you can definitely look forward to great results. Another undeniable advantage is that you have a better chance of avoiding unpleasantness such as root rot or disease.
The Alien Hydroponics Aero system can be built as an RTW (run-to-waste, used watering water is diverted to waste) or recirculating system. Each option has its advantages, but with both you can enjoy efficiency in terms of water consumption (up to 95% less than conventional in-ground growing) and fertilizer.
Irrigation is controlled by the Rain Brain system, which controls both the irrigation and drainage pumps. The watering can be set to last from 15 seconds to 5 minutes, at intervals from 30 minutes to 7 days. Before the nutrient solution reaches the plants, it is filtered to keep it free of impurities.
The Alien Hydroponics Aero 24Pot with twenty-four pots is available in Silver and Black. You can also choose from two pot sizes, both available in 15L and 30L.
The Aero system requires the purchase of a minimum 500L tank (we recommend Flexitank or the original tank Alien Hydroponics).
How do the Silver and Black systems differ?
Compared to the basic advantages, the Silver system has something extra:
- DualFlow 50mm couplings - the larger diameter means a freer flow of nutrient solution, they are also adapted for better drainage
- Silver 50mm hose - the connecting hose is also thicker and reflects heat, so the solution does not heat up in it
- Silver polymer containers and lids - reflects heat, no heating
- Copper-coated drain - roots do not grow into the irrigation system

The Aero Black package also includes: drain covers, 32mm couplings.
The Aero Pro Silver package also includes: copper-coated drain covers, Dual-Flow couplings, and a silver distribution hose instead of black.
