In this system there is no medium, the roots are placed directly into the water, which flows through the drainage system over the entire surface of each successive growing container, thus also oxygenating the plant, all without light (eliminating algae formation).This design guarantees an even supply of nutrients to each plant in the system.This system does not lag behind in production either, because it allows an area of approximately 2.25 m² to be managed with an area of approximately 7.2 m². Theoretically, it can be up to three times more efficient than horizontal systems, and as a rule of thumb yields are two to two and a half times as high with the same light output. where each light illuminates up to three times the area of horizontal systems.

It is also characterised by its ease of maintenance, both in terms of the simplicity of mixing the nutrient solution and controlling it, as well as good access to the plants for maintenance and harvesting. It also does not generate a lot of waste as in the case of systems using media (clay, rockwool, expanded clay...) which is a financial benefit at each harvest, but also a time benefit as time is lost in disposing of this waste or cleaning the reusable material (expanded clay). The only waste is the root system of the plants, which can be easily removed after opening the lid and can be recycled as compost. The growing containers can be easily removed and showered.
