MQ-500 from American manufacturing company Apogee Instruments is a handheld light meter with an attached cable that displays and stores measurement results. Main applications include measuring direct and reflected PPFD over the tops of plants or inside foliage at various heights in outdoor greenhouses or indoor grow rooms. Up to 99 of these values can be stored and once the memory capacity is full, the oldest recordings are automatically overwritten by the newly acquired ones. Both manual and log measurements can be displayed on the LCD or downloaded to a computer, however, the integrated daily total can be viewed by simply downloading the data to a computer.
