The refractometer or brixmeter is used to measure and display the sugar content of liquidssuch as alcohol, honey, juices, wine, kvass, syrups, jams, condensed milk and many others.

It displays sugar content in Brix from 0% to 32%.

It works on the principle of an optical prism on which a few drops of the substance to be measured are dropped. The sample is then covered with a cap to spread the substance over the surface of the prism. You point the refractometer at the sun and look into the eyepiece of the instrument and focus it, if necessary, until a scale appears in the sample field, where you can immediately read the % sugar content (the scale is divided into illuminated and non-illuminated). Automatic temperature compensation. Option to sharpen the eyepiece. To calibrate, use water and set 0% with a screwdriver. No batteries required.
