The VT76 is an optical device for measuring sugar content in liquids. Its measuring range is 0-32%, and it automatically compensates for the temperature of the sample. The measured sugar content is in Brix. No power input is necessary. The eyepiece can be focused.

A refractometer (also called a brixmeter) measures and displays sugar content in a liquid (like alcohol, honey, juice, wine, syrup, jam, condensed milk and others).

The sugar content is measured in Brix, ranging from 0% to 32%.

A few drops of the measured liquid are placed on the device's prism and covered with the lid. Point the refractometer to the sun (or another light source) and look into the eyepiece (focus it if the scale isn't clear) until you can see a scale. The sugar content is displayed on the scale in %. Use clear water to calibrate the device. It doesn't need a power input.
