Detailed information

Product detailed description

The MC122 PRO controller automatically monitors pH and triggers a switched socket into which pumps or CO2 dispensers can be connected. Simply set the pH parameters and the Milwaukee pH controller does the rest. The Milwaukee PRO pH controller is used in large nutrient solution tanks or aquariums.

Advantages of the Milwaukee MC122 PRO:

- accurate to ±0.2 pH with two-point manual calibration
- provides a control range of 5.5 to 9.5 pH with alarms that activate when readings are higher or lower than the set point
- comes with a complete mounting kit including probe holder

Features:
- fast, easy-to-read current results with large LC digital display
- accurate to ±0.2 pH (0.0 pH to 14.0 pH) with user-adjustable high/low setpoints
- simple two-point calibration for increased accuracy with handheld trimmers for easy setup
- gel-filled laboratory pH electrode for minimal maintenance and high performance
- 2m probe cable for greater flexibility in testing
- 12 VDC power supply

pH meters usually start to malfunction due to problems with the probe. The two parts of the pH probe that most often cause problems are the glass detection bulb and the reference hole. The glass bulb loses sensitivity with use until it eventually fails. This is true for all pH probes.

Reference hole - ma small hole that allows the meter to compare the sample to a reference value. A reading is generated based on the electrical difference between the sample and the reference. If the connection hole becomes clogged, the pH probe will no longer function.

You can extend the life of your pH electrode in the following ways:

Storage:
- The pH probe must be kept hydrated! Long dry storage will damage the sensitivity of the probe
- Leaving the probe dry may also cause the reference hole to clog.
- storage in pH probe storage solution or pH calibration buffers will help solve both of these problems
- do not store in tap water or distilled water. This will damage the sensitivity of the probe

The best way to store the probe is to fill the probe's protective cap with the storage solution or calibration buffer and tighten the cap to prevent leakage of the solution. It is also recommended to store the electrode in an upright position to further reduce the potential for leakage.

Cleaning:
- residues from the nutrient solution may affect the sensitivity of the probe and clog the reference port
- this is especially true if the sample contains a lot of organic material
- it is recommended to soak the electrode in cleaning solution periodically

Calibration:
- pH sensor probes become less sensitive over time, so make sure you perform regular calibration to keep your PRO pH controller accurate
- also perform calibration after cleaning or long term storage
