This solution is used for storing pH meter probes. Using it significantly lengthens the meter's lifespan.
The meter's electrode should never fully dry out - it should stay moist all the time. If it dries, the probe can get damaged and lose its accuracy. A damaged probe never calibrates well and gives inaccurate readings.
