T.A. Silicate is a supplement acting as - as the name suggests - a source of silicon and other minerals. Silicon is not essential to plants, but it's highly beneficial. It strengthens their cell walls, improves resistance to drought and, in the worst cases, it slows wilting. Its effects are highly praised by hydroponic growers.

Silicate contains naturally formed silicic acid clay and organic matter taken from ancient deposits. It also has a wide array of trace elements and more than 60 other minerals. This product supports the activity of the microorganisms in the soil (never in hydroponics!), improves nutrient availability, stabilises the pH and EC values of the nutrient solution, and increases resistance to disease and pests. 

It should be noted that T.A. Silicate is only a supplement - it can't substitute plant food. Please use it along with a base fertiliser. 

T.A. Silicate supports microorganisms living in substrates (like these found in Trikologic and Trikologic S). However, when Silicate reacts with water, it creates silicic acids, which are beneficial to plants but harm the microbial cultures.

The recommended dose is 4g of the powder per 10l of water or nutrient solution.
