Vermiculite is a mineral which greatly expands when it's heated. If it's heated significantly, it exfoliates - becomes light and gains exceptional absorption capacity. Medium grain size (2 - 5mm in 80% of total volume).

Vermiculite is an organic material for mixing substrates used indoors, outdoors, for germination and hydroponics. It absorbs nutrients (keeps them from flushing out) and releases them gradually to the plants. Vermiculite can fully substitute perlite, sand and peat at the same time. It improves the aeration, drainage and water retention of any substrate - which is highly beneficial to root system development and overall plant health.

Vermiculate also acts as an effective growth stimulator, mainly because of the minerals and trace elements it contains - magnesium, potassium, silicon, manganese and others. 

Vermiculite is a 100% natural mineral substrate additive for houseplants and outdoor plants without any added chemicals.

Recommended use:

Houseplants
- 30 % of vermiculite, 70 % soil or soil substrate

Hydroponic systems:
- 100% vermiculite or in a mixture of 75% vermiculite and 25% soil, sand or pebbles

Window boxes, greenhouses or outdoor flowerbeds
- 50% vermiculite, 50% soil (or in a different ratio, according to plant type)

Germination and cutting
- 100% vermiculite or in a 1:1 substrate to vermiculite ratio for planting

Storing fruit, vegetables, bulbs and tubers
- depending on the size, use a 2-5cm thick layer of vermiculite
